Introduction to Frame Loom Weaving (Four Sessions)

Meets August 5, August 12, August 17, and August 25 from 10 AM to 1 PM. Cost covers all four sessions. Classes take place on the first floor of the El Paso Museum of History.

Led by Cindy Gutierrez-Krapp (Aghaa' Hat Co.), this frame loom weaving class is a beginner friendly workshop designed to introduce students to supplies and fiber art techniques. In this workshop, participants will learn about weaving supplies, types of yarn, warping your loom, tension and using different weaving techniques to create your own unique piece. The class will cover techniques, such as plain weave, weaving shapes, soumak stitches, rya knots, pick & pick, basket weave, and finishing. Project goal is for students to complete their modern tapestry or wall hanging piece.
